Key Ingredients

Avocado: (Persea Americana) Rich in vitamins A, D and E, avocado oil encourages collagen production and reduces signs of ageing. This oil is also a good source of sterolins, which can soften skin and reduce the frequency of age spots. Avocado is an effective natural moisture and is often used to treat eczema, wounds and solar keratosis. Originating from Puebla in Mexico, avocado has long been cultivated in South and Central America. Avocado oil is beneficial for dry and itchy skin, and because it promotes the production of collagen, it also inhibits the ageing process.

Dead Sea Mud: Hydrates and moistures your skin while fine mud granules can slough away dead skin cells to reveal fresh, glowing skin beneath. By tightening your skin, Dead Sea Mud can also reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dead Sea Mud also helps to boost cell metabolism, which in turn helps your body receive the benefits of our minerals and nutrients.

Jojoba: (Simmondsia Chinesis) This natural emollient is rich in nutrients such as vitamin E and B, silicon, chromium, copper and zinc. As a natural source of iodine jojoba oil is an effective anti-fungal and antibacterial treatment, while its gentle moisturizing properties make it a great friend of your skin. The jojoba plant is native to North America, specifically northern Mexico and the southwest US.

Palm Oil: (Elaeis guineensis) – A rich natural source of glycerin, a humectant which holds water to your skin. This quality makes palm oil an effective moisturizer, while forming a barrier to help retain your skin’s moisture. Glycerin also has a hydroscopic action, drawing water to your skin from the air. Glycerin helps to improve your skin’s natural elasticity and suppleness while also defending against dry skin conditions. People have been using for palm oil for countless generations. Archeologists excavating an Egyptian tomb believe they discovered palm oil residue, which suggests the substance was in use in 3,000 BCE.

Papaya: (Carica papaya) The enzyme papain in papaya is a powerful natural exfoliator. As well as reducing the appearance of freckles and sun spots, papaya extract produces smoother, healthier-looking skin. Papaya extract is used to treats wounds because of its antibacterial properties. Native to the tropics of the Americas, papaya was first cultivated in Mexico.

What is Clean Beauty?

With words such as green, natural and organic we are often misled into thinking a product is ‘clean’ without checking the label. Clean beauty means that a product is safe, non-toxic, and has transparent labeling of ingredients. Just because a product is green/natural/organic it doesn’t mean it is clean. Clean Beauty, at its core, is a product that is safe to use with no harmful ingredients (to reiterate: not chemicals, but ingredients!).

Small Batch production

Small batch production has taken off in the last 2-3 years with local businesses taking the lead. From decor and beauty to food brands, we are seeing a huge shift in expectation from consumers as well as brands leading the process. Conscious consumers are moving away from mass-produced, large-scale beauty products to sustainable and eco-friendly makeup brands that operate along ethical lines. A renewed focus on zero-waste makeup is also part of this planet- and people-conscious movement.
